      INDIGENOUS REFEREE SUPPORT PROGRAM

ISCA is excited to launch the Indigenous Referee Support Program!

The ISCA Indigenous Referee Support Program was created to support Indigenous referees (in all sports) with financial assistance for both entry level refereeing certifications and advanced opportunities. ISCA recognizes the benefits of being a sport referee/official, including a source of income, flexible schedule, community, leadership, confidence and much more.

      Requirements:

      • Indigenous ancestry (First Nations, Metis, Inuit)
      • Resident of Alberta
      • Submit official receipt with the course/clinic cost
      • Submit certification of course completion
      • Courses/clinics that were completed as of January 1, 2025

      How it works:

Indigenous referees (and those wanting to become a referee) can submit official receipts and course certifications to ISCA for partial or full reimbursement of the clinic/course after they have completed a course/clinic.

FORM for referee support submissions: https://forms.gle/4K7btNfJxFa46kGL9

There is some funding available for advanced referees that require travel to obtain higher level certifications or to attend refereeing opportunities (email k.buchan@isportab.com for more information regarding this process).

The ISCA Indigenous Referee Support Program does not have a deadline. The form will stay open as long funding is available.
