Notes:

The inaugural All-Nations Indigenous Volleyball Showcase was held in July 2024 at York University in Toronto, hosted by Indigenous Sports and Wellness Ontario (ISWO) with support from the Aboriginal Sport Circle. This event brought together four “All-Nations” Canada teams, formed through collaboration with PTASBs, and two teams from New Zealand AMP Volleyball, facilitating both competition and cultural exchange. A core component of the tournament is fostering cultural connection and mutual understanding, helping to strengthen bonds between Indigenous communities in Canada and New Zealand.

The 2025 showcase was hosted in Edmonton, Alberta, by the Indigenous Sport Council of Alberta (ISCA) in collaboration with the Aboriginal Sport Circle and PTASBs in July 2025. The 2025 showcase highlighted games between Canada's "All Nations" Indigenous teams and New Zealand's Aotearoa Maori Poirewa (AMP) teams.

The 2024 Indigenous Cup hosted by Football Alberta, marks a significant step forward in recognizing and celebrating Indigenous talent in football. This year’s tournament saw teams assembled from 3 Prairie provinces compete at Commonwealth Stadium for the chance to hoist the Indigenous Cup.
After a full day of hard-fought battles, Alberta was crowned champions after soundly defeating both Manitoba and Saskatchewan.
The Edmonton Oilers Community Foundation and KidSport Alberta have teamed up for the THIRD year to launch the KidSport Oil County Hockey Assist Program (HAP)! The HAP program is dedicated to increasing access to youth hockey across Oil Country!
Approved applicants are eligible to receive up to $750 per player for their registration fees, as well as access to no-cost equipment from Sport Central.
Both KidSport Alberta and the Indigenous Sport Council of Alberta (ISCA) recognize the importance of doing more to assist Indigenous children into sport. They are committed to doing their part by providing funding for sport registration fees to help break down one of the many barriers of sport participation. Indigenous families in Alberta that live in areas of the province not covered by a local KidSport chapter now have a specific online application to apply for KidSport funding

We’re thrilled to announce that the Indigenous Sport Council of Alberta (ISCA) has officially joined the Confederation of Independent Football Associations (CONIFA)! This historic milestone makes ISCA the first Canadian organization in years to become part of the CONIFA family.
This partnership opens new pathways for Indigenous athletes to showcase their talent, honor their cultures, and compete on the global stage in CONIFA tournaments.
ISCA’s vision is to build high-performance men’s, women’s, and youth soccer teams to represent Indigenous communities. With recent successes at the 2023 North American Indigenous Games—including gold, silver, and bronze medals in soccer—our athletes are ready to shine internationally!
Plans for upcoming competitions are already underway. ISCA has launched an Expression of Interest form for Indigenous athletes eager to compete.
This is just the beginning of an exciting journey! Stay tuned for more updates.
